We are looking to recruit a Family Group Conference Co-ordinator to join the Family Group Conference Team within Specialist Support Service.
You will lead and coordinate Family Group Conferences to encourage family decision making and responsibility for their children and young people by negotiating and discussing support within their family network to ensure safety and safeguarding of children and young people.
You will demonstrate knowledge of the concept of family Group Conference and mediation, child development, Children’s Act 1989 and child protection policies/procedures. Knowledge of issues that affect children and their families, the importance of maintaining professional boundaries as well as child safeguarding procedures is also essential.
You will have experience of working with children and families, working within a multi-agency partnership and chairing meetings. Good written and verbal communication skills, good organisational skills and being able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team are also essential.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant qualification at level 3, or equivalent and demonstrate an understanding of child safeguarding and be able to identify and manage risk.
A current driving licence and access to a car or means to mobility support is also essential to the role.
