We are looking to recruit a Senior Family Group Conference Co-ordinator to join the Family Group Conference Team within Specialist Support Service.
The postholder will take a leadership role managing a team of FGC Coordinators and hold overall responsibility for compliance and contribute to the development of policy, service-related documentation and operating procedures to ensure compliance with the national statutory reporting requirements.
In addition, the postholder will lead and coordinate Family Group Conferences to encourage family decision making and responsibility for their children and young people by negotiating and discussing support within their family network to ensure safety and safeguarding of children and young people.
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge of the concept of family Group Conference and mediation as well as child safeguarding procedures.
You will have experience of managing a team, working with and providing a timely response to children and families, working within a multi-agency partnership and chairing meetings. Good written and verbal communication skills, good organisational skills and being able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team are also essential.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant qualification at level 4 or above, demonstrate an understanding of child safeguarding and be able to identify and manage risk.
A current driving licence and access to a car or means to mobility support is also essential to the role.
