The team…
We are seeking a keen, motivated, adaptable and committed individual to provide technical support on energy and sustainability matters in the Energy Services Team within the Energy, Major Projects and Development service.
You will be joining the Energy Services team, an exciting and diverse team of officers who are leading the way with the development of our District Energy Network. We support the Council, the borough and the residents of Gateshead with energy efficiency measures, working towards our decarbonisation goals and our aim to provide low cost, low carbon heat for the people of Gateshead. We work dynamically to deliver at pace and have big ambitions to expand our work and continue to lead the way with decarbonising energy.
About the role….
To help the team deliver its services, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of technical duties including updating data management systems for Council energy use and domestic energy efficiency, preparing building floor plans, processing financial information for utility bill management, as well as providing support to the delivery of energy and environment projects, within the Council and in the community.
You must have knowledge of data management systems or energy/building/property management systems, experience of using GIS/CAD or similar software systems to review or produce plans and maps, be computer literate in the use of databases and spreadsheets (MS office), be able to work to deadlines, both under own initiative, and as part of a team, with good organisational and customer service skills.
