The team…
Public Service Reform is a small, friendly team in the Council dedicated to supporting the development of services, partnerships and ways of working through experimentation and innovation that can enable people in Gateshead to thrive.
One area of innovation that we lead on that this role would be involved closely with is Changing Futures Northumbria (CFN) which is a collaboration across the six local authorities of Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland. This project aims to improve the life situation of adults who face multiple disadvantage, transform local services, and reinvent the way the system operates.
About the role….
We’re looking to appoint a highly motivated Support Officer to join our Public Service Reform team to work within an exciting national project; Changing Futures Northumbria (CFN).
As a Support Officer, you will work closely with senior management to ensure the smooth running of CFN until its conclusion in March 2025 by providing efficient, professional and comprehensive support to the three Programme Leads and the wider team.
The work is varied, and the successful candidate will need to be a quick learner. Strict timescales need to be adhered to so good organisational skills are essential and successful candidates will have demonstrable experience of managing a varied workload with competing priorities whilst meeting deadlines.
It is vital that you can demonstrate that you have excellent IT skills using office-based software packages e.g. Microsoft Office and be able to carry out research and simple analysis.
The role will involve responsibility for elements of financial administration as well as the co-ordination and updating of records to ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained and the team comply with all reporting requirements.
You must have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or grade C or above including Maths and English or equivalent qualification.
