The team…
The Enablement and Independence service supports people with disabilities (learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or mental health conditions) to be influential in their local communities through citizenship, employment, enterprise, and volunteering opportunities. With a strong focus on the abilities of the individual and not their disabilities, we recognise the importance of supporting individuals to obtain their maximum potential and achieve the same life outcomes as those of people without disabilities.
Enablement and Independence services are also key to supporting older people to remain in their own homes through facilitating seamless hospital discharges, preventing unnecessary admissions to hospital and residential care, by working with individuals to regain or maintain their independence with enablement and reablement approaches.
